E-care is the annual charity event organized by the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering with the pure intention of serving the community. The event is based on a school or a foster home with needs, which we try to fulfil with our talents and skills. Working as a team and coping with the kids is a heart pleasing experience. On the other hand, contributing to fulfilling our social responsibility is another level of satisfaction.
E-care 2024
E-Care, the annual charity event of ENTC, was held on the 1st of May 2024. This year, Yogama Tamil Vidyalayam in Dehiowita, Kegalle was selected as the target since it was identified as a rural school with lack of facilities to the students.
Accordingly, with the help of the sponsors, the staff, and the undergraduates of ENTC, the school was donated a cupboard with about 150 – 200 books, because one of the main needs of the students was a library. Other than that, 50 packs containing exercise books, pastel boxes, instrument boxes, water bottles, lunch boxes, school bags, etc were distributed among the selected students. Moreover, the school was given some buckets of wall-paint and brushes, by which the blackboards were painted by ENTC students themselves, on that day. In the afternoon, a seminar and a discussion were held targeting the G.C.E. O/L students.
We believe, as ENTC, we could leave at least a tiny impact on their lives helping them to see the new world, move with it and win it.

E-care 2014
The annual charity program, E-Care was held on the 20th and 21st of December 2014 at Balangoda Hatharabage Kanishta Vidyalaya. The school was chosen from among many other similar candidates with low infrastructure facilities.
The fifty students who participated in the program got busy wiring the two buildings belonging to the school and painting and repairing school infrastructure facilities. While the desks, chairs and the walls were newly painted, artists among us repainted the old faded wall paintings and added a new one also to the collection. Also a netball court was set up on their ground. While this was being done, another group completely rearranged the library and wrapped the donations we were about to present to them.
On the evening of the first day, we had a talent show where the school children quite amazed us. The donations to the school were presented to the principal which included sports items and books for the library. We also distributed gift packs full of stationery items for every student.
On the second day morning an IT session was conducted for the grade 11 and 12 students. By noon of the second day we could complete all our work in wiring and repairing.
Helping us with sweetmeats and home cooked delicious meals the villagers reminded us of the famous Sri Lankan hospitality. They treated us like their own family, which was amazing. But the most heart cheering thing among them all, was the feeling that we did something good as students benefited by free education and as future engineers.
E-care 2013
E-Care 2013 genuinely showed the brotherhood of the ENTC family. The event was held in Kalaimagal Vidyalayam in Mullaitivu, an underprivileged school just near the border of NanthiKadal Lagoon. We spent two really rough days (17th and 18th August 2013) there in the school and did the maximum contribution to the school in our capacity.
With the help of our generous donors we were able to donate a new volleyball court, a large scale world map on a wall, stationary items, text books for the library and a large set of sports equipment. The primary building and 100+ desks and chairs were painted. In addition to that, a comprehensive two days seminar was held for O/L students.
The ENTC family was thankful for those who participated in the program and worked hard to accomplish the above in the best way possible. And also special thanks go to Dr.Thayaparan who gave us great strength by being with us throughout the program.
We are utmost grateful to all the donors who contributed to the fund raiser and donated various other goods. We also express our gratitude to Brigadier Bandara, Colonel Jayamanna and other army personnel who helped us in many ways in making this event a success.
E-care 2006
E – Care 2006, very first E-Care programs conducted by Electronic Club in 2006. Children were from a fosters-home and they danced, played, won prizes and had a truly memorable time with undergraduates in the department.
It was an exciting initiative by the E club with the vision of giving something back to the community.
