Brief Biography
Chamira U. S. Edussooriya received the B.Sc.Eng. degree in Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering (first class honors) from the University of Moratuwa, Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, in 2008, and the M.A.Sc. and the Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Victoria, Victoria, BC, Canada, in 2012 and 2015, respectively. His Master’s thesis was nominated for the Lieutenant Governor’s Silver Medal in 2012. He co-invented the class of multi-dimensional filters, called five-dimensional depth-velocity filters, applied to light field videos. From 2008 to 2009, he worked as a Lecturer at the Department of Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering, University of Moratuwa. After completing graduate studies, he again joined the Department of Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering, University of Moratuwa, in 2016 and is currently working as a Senior Lecturer. His current research interests include analysis and design of low-complexity multidimensional digital filters for video, light field and light field video processing, and broadband beamforming.
