Biography

Brief Biography

I received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, Moratuwa, Sri Lanka in 2003 and 2004 respectively, and the Doctor of Engineering (D. Eng.) degree in Information and Communications Technology from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand in 2007. I subsequently joined the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) as a Research Associate. From October 2011 to September 2012, I was with the Department of Communication and Networking, Aalto School of Electrical Engineering, Aalto University (formerly Helsinki University of Technology (HUT)), Finland as a Postdoctoral Researcher. From October 2012 to August 2015, I was with the Department of Statistics, Stanford University. I am currently a senior lecturer in the Department of Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering, University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. I also serve as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Wireless Communications Letters journal. I received a Best Paper Award in Communication Theory at the IEEE ICC 2011 held in Kyoto, Japan 2011.
