Winning the Cores…!!!

Date: July 29 to August 04, 2014

Venue: Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria

They were incredibly amazing. It was the 21st International Mathematics Competition (IMC) for undergraduates organized by the University College, London and American University in Bulgaria. They made that scrumptious remark in the Sri Lanka’s history of Mathematics. And we are indeed proud that G. R. B. R. Gamlath, a dexterous undergraduate of ENTC 10th batch, came to be the legendry securing the Silver medal at this worldwide competition.

The team representing Sri Lanka, comprising four university undergraduates, which was chosen after a selection test and trained by the Department of Mathematics, University of Colombo was placed 49th out of 73 universities representing every nook and corner of the world.

We are delighted to say that H.A.R.T. Wijesekara, an undergraduate of the ENTC 12th batch was able to secure an Honorable Mention at this competition. Moreover, R.M. T.B. Rathnayake, from Department of Computer Science Engineering won a Bronze medal while M.F.M. Sabri from University of Colombo also secured an Honorable mention.

They were felicitated by the Ministry of Higher Education on the 23rd of October with cash prizes on their achievement.


The Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering extends its heartfelt gratitude to our young achievers including G. R. B. R. Gamlath and H.A.R.T. Wijesekara for their excellence.

The annual cricket tournament of the Department, Tronic Premiere League will be happening.

The event is organized by the E-Club and students from all levels as well as staff will be playing.
